as previous comments stated, re paregoric and teething, my mother used it (i am 70 yrs old),as did i for all of my 5 children. it was sold over the counter then, and a bottle would last FOREVER, as i simply tipped the bottle onto my finger and rubbed it onto my childs gums, it provided great relief.
