Dear Nancy: Sorry to hear about your swelling parotid gland. If a stone were present, one should be able to palpate the stone manually. If the gland duct were clogged, one should be able to note periodic swelling with eating then a return to normal size (if the blockage is incomplete).

Question: parotid gland infection,stone,or tumor? ... Hello again, Does the parotid swelling hurt? If its painless I think you should consider a biopsy. Infection of the parotid can raise the WBC counts but not for two years. This looks like its part of a bigger picture.
