The U.S. State Department is currently accepting applications and issuing the new Passport Card. The Passport Card, also called PASS Card, is a limited use passport in a "wallet size" format. The first Passport Cards were issued in the summer of 2008 and have been very popular with U.S. citizens.

You would need to have a valid passport and ID to return across the border. Not sure they will issue one with the misdemeanor. Ask the Immigration service on the ... I think that the first person you should ask is your probation officer. There are often restrictions on travel when people are on probation or parole.

In case you haven’t heard, new passport restrictions that went into effect in late January require a passport when entering this country from North, Central, or South America as well as the Carribean (and Bermuda).
