Distribution: The Peacock Eel was described by Günther in 1861. They are found in Asia: Mekong, Chao Phraya, Maeklong, Peninsular and Southeast Thailand. They inhabit slow-moving, thickly vegetated areas of rivers and the still waters of flooded fields.

Question i picked up a stripped peacock eel about 2 months ago. he's very active at day and night (unlike lots of people think)and the problem is i have seen him eat a piece of frozen bloodworms 1 time in 2 months and thats it.

Beautiful photos and info about Peacock Eels ... I have a peacock eel; about 13 cm long and either very active or very still. When he's still he hides his body in a thick outcropping of broadleaf plants and just pokes his head out - his eyes follow everything though.
