I am currently reading "The Dryden Translation" of Plutarch's Lives. Are there any better translations? ... Nobody has ever improved upon Dryden. But I think some of the lives are newly translated in Penguin paperbacks. And there's always the Loeb Classics versions, which are literal translations.
