Yankee Swap and Chinese Auction are variations of gift exchanges where participants don't know who is giving what. One variation is to have the gifts (let say 10) numbered 1 through 10, and then to draw numbers, and the number you get is the gift you get.

They have sponsored a travelling chicken and bear , a home-made Christmas ornament exchange, a cactus sharing program - and this year they thought it might be nice to get in the old fashioned holiday spirit and see how many might like to participate in a Holiday Surprise Gift Exchange thingy, sort of like a Pollyanna.
