My 7month Lab was spayed 3 weeks ago, no problems. When her stitches were removed I pounted out deep 'lumps' at either side of the scar. A few days ago the scar became red and looked angry so I took her back to the vet and she gave her antibiotics and said the lumps ... Topic Dog Boards / Health / post spay complications...

From what I've experienced, most surgical/spay complications happen soon after the procedure itself, within a couple of days, not withstanding long term acquired infections...in which you've got an anti-B going.
