A posterior placenta means that its position is toward the back of the uterus. An Anterior placenta is on the front, and Placenta Previa is a very low-lying placenta, partially over the cervix. Of these, PLacenta Previa is the position to worry the most about.

Sometimes, in an effort to correct this apparent posterior position, moms will spend a lot of time on hands and knees.
