Confirmed is the fact that my old 84' 5th Avenue does have a power steering fluid leak. In question is how I'm going to fix this problem. Currently I'm having to fill it with transmission fluid (apparently works just as well, and much cheaper) and do so at least once or twice a day.

I had a bad power steering leak -- as in, I parked the car and the power steering fluid just all drained out the bottom, leaving me with none -- and took it to my mechanic.

agree, find the source of leak first. check power steering pump rack & Pinion; PS high pressure hose. PS return hose. I has similar leak, mech said Rack and PS Pump leaking and needed replacement. Help w/ Power steering fluid leak Brakes, Steering, Suspension, Tires, & Wheels ... Power steering fluid is covering some of the hoses and the front differential. It looks to be a slow leak because the reservoir is only slightly low.
