FOR THE PROCESS OF PHOTOSYNTHESIS YOU NEED A GREEN PLANT OR A PROTOCTISTA OR A PROKARYOTE. YOU ALSO NEED SUNLIGHT AND WATER . ... IN PLANTS, THE PROCESS BEGINS WHEN IT RAINS AND WHEN YOU BREATH OUT CARBON DIOXIDE. IT TAKES THE CARBON DIOXIDE THROUGH THE LEAVES AND THE WATER THROUGH THE ROOTS OF THE PLANT.

Photosynthesis is the process of converting light energy to chemical energy and storing it in the bonds of sugar. This process occurs in plants and some algae (Kingdom Protista). Plants need only light energy, CO2, and H2O to make sugar.

Sunlight plays a much larger role in our sustenance than we may expect: all the food we eat and all the fossil fuel we use is a product of photosynthesis, which is the process that converts energy in sunlight to chemical forms of energy that can be used by biological systems.
