In situ chemical oxidation (ISCO) and in situ thermal remediation (ISTR) are applicable to treatment of groundwater contaminated with chlorinated ethenes. ISCO with persulfate (S2O82-) requires activation, and this can be achieved with the heat from ISTR, so there may be advantages to combining these technologies.

We measured angular-anisotropy parameters (Et) of fragments from photolysis of ethene and four isotopic variants at 157 nm using photofragment translational spectroscopy and selective photoionization. The averaged value of products ranges from 0.17 to 0.10, depending on dissociation pathways. ... Journal of Natural Products...

The kinetics of the selective oxidation of ethene in air over an industrial silver on ¿-alumina catalyst were studied. Special attention was paid to the influence of the reaction products on the reaction rates of epoxidation and complete combustion. ... Carbon dioxide enhances the selectivity towards ethene oxide,

Here we describe an unusual, strictly anaerobic bacterium that destroys dichloroethenes and vinyl chloride as part of its energy metabolism, generating environmentally benign products (biomass, ethene and inorganic chloride).

However, in ethene the pi bond is not symmetrical and therefore the carbon molecules are not free to rotate, this means that for any products of ethene with the double bond remaining intact there is cis-trans isomerism.
