Summary:In this paper, a CMOS-compatible in-plane micrometer-size optically readable nonvolatile-memory device is proposed and analyzed. It consists of an electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM) integrated on a high-index-contrast silicon-on-insulator (SOI) rib waveguide.

Practical Properties of Thermochromically Induced Super-Resolution Read-Only Memory Disk (TSR-ROM) ... Super-resolution effects and practical properties of a thermochromic mask layer for a read-only memory disk are evaluated using a conventional disk tester with a 635 nm light source and a 0.6 numerical aperture (NA) pickup.

One major type of memory that is used in PCs is called read-only memory, or ROM for short. ROM is a type of memory that normally can only be read, as opposed to RAM which can be both read and written. There are two main reasons that read-only memory is used for certain functions within the PC:

The physical effects at lower doses can include "dryness of mouth, jaw clenching, teeth grinding, nystagmus (eye wiggles), sweating, or nausea" (Taylor, 4) while at higher doses the drug takes on amphetamine-like properties causing a "fast or pounding heart, sweating, dizziness, restlessness etc." (Taylor, 4).

Consequently, using this PN (or NP) junction manufacturing, the PN (or the NP) junction of the one-time programmable read only memory cells can haveconsistent properties, a low leakage current and a high average device performance.
