A poster may post his RAR files without PAR files. Maybe the RAR's will be ok, maybe not, but there will be no way for you to fix them if there is a problem. You may want to download something else, or ask the poster to make and post some PAR files.

NewzToolz is a free utility program that can decode yEnc, RAR, and PAR files. NewzToolz can also combine files, that is, glue them together, contains an NZB downloader, can play slideshows, and can be used to read, and post to, newsgroups.

WIth PAR files you usually need ALL the PAR parts to rebuild one missing RAR or 00X file, but with PAR2 files you can try downloading just a few of the PAR2 files and see if Quickpar can rebuild it, and if not, leep downloading a few more PAR2 files until there is enough to rebuild everything.

Par-N-Rar is a graphical utility which accepts a directory as input and will repair/verify any PAR/PAR2/SFV/MD5 files in that directory. Once it verifies a set of files, it will attempt to unRAR them. Once it finishes unRARing a RAR archive, it will (optionally) remove the original PAR/RAR files.
