Re: Royal Navy Motor Torpedo Boat No. 733 ... The prototype entered service in 1942. These 'D' class boats were designed to have the characteristics of both MTB and MGB. Fairmiles originally built MLs (Motor Launches) but this type of vessel eventually resulted in the 'D' class 'Dogboat'.
