According to the many advaitins, Saguna Brahma or Īshwara, in Hindu philosophy, is God or Supreme Consciousness with gunas (qualities or attributes).

Saguna Brahman is not just the creator, but the preserver and destroyer also. The creator aspect of Saguna Brahman is called Brahma; the preserver aspect, Vishnu; and the destroyer aspect Shiva or Maheshwara. These three form the so-called Hindu Trinity.

His relative form as the ‘supreme being’, who is endowed with all divine qualities and attributes, is called saguna brahman, or God with gunas. Our finite mind can only conceive finite things, and every finite thing is endowed with gunas of one form or another.

while praying to Brahman in Hinduism... human beings either pray to Nirguna Brahman (without a form) or Saguna form of Brahman (having a form). For a commoner... the masses it is extremely difficult to think of formless God hence praying to Saguna form of Brahman is more prevalent in the society!
