To start scraping you find the weak link. Using a 6"-8" wide putty knife, find the loosest part of the peeling paint and get under it and lift and scrape.

40 Comments to Peeling paint on stainless Ruger 10/22 receiver So I heavily scraped it out and kept spraying it and scraping it. Tried to smooth off the parts that remained with emory cloth, and put it all back together with a coating of oil where the coating used to be. I’ll find out at the range tomorrow if it’s OK.
