Question: Setting fabric color of clothes, bedding, etc. I recently bought new bedding, including dark green sheets and don't want colors and pattern to run or fade with washing. I recall hearing about a recipe that recommends soaking fabrics in a vinegar mixture.

If the color runs in the testing phase, I soak the fabric in cold water with a dash of salt and a couple of glugs of vinegar. (The reason I use this mixture is because I tried one or the other of these products years ago, with good results, but I could never remember which it was.
