The frenulum is a thin band of tissue beneath the tongue. In most people, this band of tissue is barely perceptible and does not impair tongue motion. In some people, the frenulum is short and thick, limiting tongue motion.

I have an appointment for January and I am getting my tongue pierced along with my nose, but my question isn't about a nostril piercing....My tongue os a bit short, and I have a bit of a prominent frenulum (is that the right word...?) .....would you still be able to pierce my tongue?
