[Archive] Registration for the draft: include women? Polls ... There is no draft. So, since men don't sign up for a draft, neither should women. However, men are required to sign up for Selective Service (a more PC name for emergency draft) and, I believe, women should also sign up for it.

If women can serve in the military, then i think they should also sign up for the draft. And i think if the only way they can get out of the draft is if they are pregnant. Hey this is equal oppurtunity and women have been waiting to be equal to men so here is their chance that they always have wanted.

I would not want a non volunteer watching my back in any situation and neither would the career military men and women.Young women tell me they would sign up but with the number of folks volunteering it's not likely that there will be a draft.

Why don't groups like National Organization for Women fight restrictions on women registering for the Draft, like they fight ... Not for the draft, no, but I wouldn't object to two years of required national service for 18-year-olds. ... I think that if there is a draft again, yes females and males should both be elegiable.
