TIP: Restore the Show Desktop shortcut on Quick Launch Bar ... Save the file to your Desktop as Show Desktop.scf. Next left click on the file you just created and drag it down to the Quick Launch bar and release.

For those who don’t use Quick Launch bar or prefer a keyboard shortcut, there is a faster way to display the desktop directly. Simply use the Show Desktop keyboard shortcut by press Win + D keys, and all windows will be minimized and hidden to show the desktop.

I inadvertently deleted my "Show Desktop" shortcut that resides on my Quick Launch Bar... I somehow accidently dragged it to the desktop then deleted it - the actual command and not just the shortcut, I believe.

The Show Desktop shortcut by default is installed to the quick launch bar. It is a handy shortcut to use especially when you have tons of windows open and you need to get to your desktop. What if you deleted it? Recreating the shortcut using the Shortcut wizard seems like the way to go, but alas it does not work.
