A thread in the Beginner Flowers forum, titled snail plant verses corkscrew vine ... I just aquired the Phaseolus Caracalla (Snail) vine from Lowes. I have the Vigna Caracalla (Corkscrew) vine I got as a seedling last fall from my Son in San Antonio. They are quite different blooms but the foliage looks almost the same.

I planted a small snail vine in the spring. It was a little slow getting started but once established, it has taken off. The beautiful vine is growing up a lattice and I am training it to offer some much needed privacy.

I recieved 'snail vine' in a trade. After foilage that just grew like crazy I am finally getting light pink to orange pink little single snail shaped flowers here and there and skinny green bean looking pods. I thought I would be seeing CLUSTERS of WHITE snail looking flowers.

The Snail Vine is a beautiful vine and well worth growing. It generally dies back in winter, doesn't really do well below 50 or 40 degrees. The snail vine is a fast grower and it will catch up the following spring, growing fast when the weather turns warm and twining up everywhere.
