WHAT DO SOFT-SHELL TURTLES LOOK LIKE? Florida Soft-shell Turtles (Trionyx ferox) look like big leathery pancakes. They are brownish-green or tan with blotches on their skin. Their shells are covered with skin, and are soft around the edges.
