I've had a chronic sore throat for over 6 months on the right side of my throat. I've been to the ENT and had my tonsils removed b/c i had a bunch of nasty tonsil stones. My throat is still sore though. I went back to the ENT and they gave me prednisone and they told me to take mucinex.
