Measurements For All Sizes: Lap Size (48" x ... The actual size of the mattress on his bed in 27x51. I am not sure what the standard is, but I was thinking 8 or 9 inches overhang on three sides, so a finished size of 45X60? Does that sound about right? If so, that is pretty close to the lap quilt, I could just do that!

New Quilt Sizes ... Add up the total inches around the quilt, divide that by 40 (the standard width of the fabric), round that number up to a whole number and multiply that by the width you cut your bindings.
