My van did this as well and turned out I just needed my tires balanced..no biggie..and it went back to driving smoothly on the... ... ; What does it mean when you put your foot on the brake the brake pedal pulsates and the steering wheel shakes?

I was told that the tie rods and possibly the ball joints need to be replaced because while driving at high speeds, the steering wheel shakes a little. When I have this done, I am also going to replace the struts up front since they have never been changed after about 140,000 miles.
