Strip chess is a variant of chess in which an article of clothing is removed for each piece taken. It is similar in purpose to strip poker. More than is the case with poker, strip chess introduces a secondary goal which can diverge from the game's normal goal and substantially alter the way the game is pursued.

Strip chess has also reared its head in the Sandra Bullock-Hugh Grant film Two Weeks' Notice. Though I can't say I've seen the movie, I know that the game is played between Grant's character and the person played by Alicia Witt, although its rules are never disclosed.
