We do not wish to shut down the use of computers during classes, like we have had to do with cell phones and such, but is worth considering if students will not use them appropriately. How can you do well on exams if not paying attention in class?

I always encourage them not to ignore the problem, but instead to make it their responsibility to try to help those failing students find a way to succeed. Success does not always mean passing a class or even learning the material. ... Know what other classes and community resources are available to help a student in need.

Due to personal problems I'm failing my classes. Right now I'm taking History of Film, Abnormal Behavior, Intro to Psych, Psychology as a Profession ... I would suggest digging it out hard and get Ds or Cs, talk to your professor and explain to them what is wrong, no actual professor really wants to fail their students.
