It is this horror, perhaps one of the worst things imaginable that Edgar Allan Poe examines in the story of "Berenice" one of his more disturbing and violent stories it was largely disliked as being too violent during Edgar Allan Poe's time but he still sold a great many copies of this story and I can certainly see why.
