Last Sunday, the pain took a turn and became unbearable and she was taken to the ER by ambulance. They did a CT scan to rule out a blockage. There was no blockage, just severe inflammation and infection. One doctor told us this was "normal" and "to be expected" after a colostomy take-down.

I have a 8 month old son that was born with an inperforate anus right now he has a colostomy bag and is scheduled to have colostomy take down surgery this week what are the risk that come after surgery and how long does this procedure usually take ....

I am fully confident that it will different this third surgery. Again, thanks to all that stay active in answering others questions. My wife gave me a new name through this - she calls me ... A colostomy takedown (AKA: colostomy reversal) is typically a much easier surgery as far as recovery goes and it is generally a happy surgery for the pt. I'm not sure if I explained this clearly, if not let me know or if you have anymore questions I would be more then happy to answer any for you!!!!!
