I can't help with the sore throat because it sounds like you tried everthing I would have tried, but for your earache try the sweet oil, its the same as olive oil, my husband put some in a teaspoon and heated it slightly with a lighter then poured into my ear, put cotten in and the next morning the pain was gone.
