A. Teco is art pottery that was made in Terra Cotta (now Crystal Lake), Illinois, from the late 1800s to the early 1920s. The name comes from the first syllables of "terra" and "cotta." It has been reported that every piece of Teco pottery was originally marked with a paper label containing the name of the designer and the pottery, as well as the model number and price of the vase. However, it is rare to find a Teco vase today that still retains its original paper label.

Teco Pottery vase. This was designed by W. L. B. Jenney and numbered 154 in the Teco catalog copyrighted in 1905. This is in excellent condition with no restorations and is signed twice with an impressed mark. This piece measures an impressive 10 1/2" tall and 8" in diameter.

Included in the inventory from one of the estates of a long deceased owner where it sat undisturbed for decades was a Teco vase designed by Frank Albert early in the twentieth century. According to Auction owner Lloyd Matheson only six examples of this vase are known to exist.
