Headers and dual flow master 40's. 1. Anyone know what the initial timing should be? I tried 4 BDC, that was no good, I tried Timing it at 3000 RPMs and setting it to 36 degree. That put the initial timing at 14 BDC. Seems a little high?

Thread: Timing specs ... I'm not a gear head but have a friend who said he would set the timing if I could tell him what it should be. The only thing I know is that it is a 350cid, it has roller rockers, Edelbrock Performer intake manifold, 600cfm 4 barrel carb.and does not have points in the distributor.

Here's where it gets interesting...my MOTOR manual lists idle/timing specs to '70, but refers you to the factory decal for '71. My decal is missing. I made a "guess" of 700-ish RPM at idle in drive. and; 10-12 BTDC for timing.
