Toilets that won't flush are almost always associated with worn handles and chains. Examine both the inside and outside of the toilet handle, to ensure its properly connected to the toilet chain. Reconnect the chain (or replace) if necessary, and reflush.

There are two toilets in the house on opposite ends. The one off the Master Bedroom works fine, but the other toilet will not flush properly. It will work for a couple of days without any problems and then it starts clogging and when you go to flush it the water will come to the top and will have to be plunged.

You need a new ballcock and a new flush handle in the cistern - that's the thingy and the handle attached to it! I would seriously NOT attempt to fix this yourself if you've no knowledge of plumbing... could be a very costly job of you get a leak!

Mansfield toilet does not flush adequately. ... I would like to know how to adjust a Mansfield toilet that closes so fast that it won't flush the waste out properly. The toilet doesn't have a chain and flapper. It has a plastic mechanism that goes down a plastic tube when it flushes.
