Do you think clipping the tongue is necessary in a tongue-tied child? Does it affect speech development? My child was diagnosed late, so if he were to have it clipped now at 20 months of age, he would need general anesthesia.

Country: usa like many of the other readers, i have a 2 year old son who is tongue tied. wer noticed it at birth, however, since it was not impeding his feeding, and he was vocalizing all sounds, we opted to take the "wait and see" approach.
