My twins were quite visible at a 10-week u/s. ... So I realize this question might be a little silly & I am acting slightly neurotic about this, but I was just wondering if any moms on here had an experience with a missed twin on an ultrasound.  I realize this is very unlikely to happen - but just wondering if it has?

Twins and Multiple Birth ... I had an ultrasound done at 7 weeks exactly... it looked like one baby but after we have looked carefully we think there might be another one because ... The songographer was completely surprised-she said after 24 years of doing it she has never missed seeing a twin.....it definitely happens!!!!

While you may have heard anecdotally of twins missed on ultrasound, experts agree that in modern uses of either vaginal or transabdominal ultrasound such an occurrence would be extremely unlikely.

What I want to know, is it possible that the first doctor missed the twin and the other two techs didn't see one as they thought that there was no need to look for one? We found out we were having twins at 6 weeks and 5 days. I am not sure if they could have missed it at your 6 week ultrasound. I just know that we had two egg sacks and two heart beats at our first ultrasound.
