What are those called anyways? ... There are 2 big black bees that look similar to each other. One is a carpenter bee...and yes, those can and do sting. The other is a bumble bee...and no, those do not sting (they don't have stingers). Getting stung by a carpenter bee is really no different than getting stung by any other bee.
