Will the types of lillies I mentioned do well in poorer soil, as well as some part shade, since I have other beds that do not receive sun all day. Any advice on lillies would be great, since the only experience I have is with the stargazers (beautiful variety) and basically yellow asiatics...

The cream-white types are most abundant in western Washington. It's also possible to find yellow or pink callas in nurseries, but the cream sorts seem to establish best in gardens. I've seen older clumps near homes in Tacoma growing to 3 feet tall and as wide.
