Usually if windows had successfully installed a USB device, it will works the same with other USB ports ; In this case, I suspect the Monitor USB port, or the USB cable connected the Monitor to your PC, does not work properly ( cable misplugged, USB cable is too long...);

Windows XP USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED errors Hardware and Windows XP ... I have had Active Sync installed for a while and was capable of hot plugging devices USB, now when I hot plug my axim or any other usb device is says "usb device not recognized". Any ideas guys? I'd really hate to have to redo this machine.

USB to IEEE1284 (parallel port) cable, printer not working/recognized. Computing and Technology ... This is not the case. I tried the "Add ... I don't know how to tell if it's recognized. A chime sounds when I connect the USB cord, but that probably doesn't mean anything other than a cable being plugged into a USB port.
