how do you unblock a toilet gerry1506 (Sun 22:14 03/Dec/06) ... First try a good toilet plunger not a sink one !!! or try using a mop head vigoursley up and down if you havent got a plunger. Or bail it out if it is overflowing and then poor a bucket full of water down it from a height.

make sure that there is only a little bit of water in the toilet then full up a bucket of water - hold it quite high over the toilet and then flush the toilet and quickley pour the water from your bucket into the toilet at the same time and your problems are over!

If the toilet will still not unblock then run some water down the sink and the bath, if this water does not drain away then the blockage could be further down the soil pipe, in which case you will need a set of drain rods and suitable attachments.
