The Motley Fool - How much do unions hurt the bottom line? ... Is there a problem? So there's both good and bad associated with unions. I suspect that most businesses, and even many or most investors in said businesses, would prefer that the businesses be union-free. But that's easier said than done.

Good from my experiences. ... Yeah but he was right I do have to pay 35 a month in union dues and 3or 4% of my wages but thats fine because after Union fees I still make twice as much as he does starting out in his nonunion job,doing the sme thing (welding) He still said unions are bad but my check indicates to me otherwise.

Unions protect bad teachers. Not so. People are under the impression that in the “real world” the boss can fire and hire at will. In reality, it is not that easy. I've heard all kinds of opinions about how evil unions are (from Republicans) while Democrats normally sing their praises. What's your opinion? Unions... good or bad? My dad is a member of Teamsters and has been for over 35 years.
