Don't take any "flak" about this collectible: the used British Flak Vest!; Flak jackets were first used in WWII by gunners in the Army Air Corps to protect from flying shrapnel. The originals were made with steel plates sewn on the inside and were too heavy for ground troops.

Marines used M1955 flak vests or their copies made on Okinawa? or Korea?. Lower part of vest was filled by Doron plates and upper part was made from ballistic nylon. Some Marines used Army vests but they were very hot.
