Paddy: To be frank, your condition sounds typical for neither fungus nor vitiligo, inasmuch as neither is "bumpy." The location of the spots does favor fungus, however. Loss of color after fungus tends to be rather long-lasting in dark-skinned people, measured in months even after successful eradication of the fungus.

On a side note, if you have a fungus that was "diagnosed" as vitiligo, the UVB narrowband probably works quite well b/c it actually ends up killing the fungus present. And who's to say my chiropractic care isn't helping out some by slowing the progress.

After reading some postings on Vitiligo I am now not sure whether I have Vitiligo or a fungus. I have a couple of small spots on my chin and large patches on my Genital areas. The Doctors have told me that it is Vitiligo but I am not sure that I trust this Diagnosis.
