Ms. Carey's vocal talents are undeniable (and she can hit some astoundingly high notes), but unless she can sound like Barry White at the low end of her register, her high end must be audible only to dogs. Mariah Carey does indeed have a fine voice, possibly even close to six octaves in range.

I check with a piano and a friend last Saturday.I can sing from F below middle C up to the D which is 3 octaves higher.So my range is 2 and 1/2 I guess.Is pretty good.I also think I'm an alto since I can hit the high D but I fudge my throat up a bit !
