From what I've read, voluntary repo saves the extra expenses attached like towing, storage, etc. I guess I'll just call CaptialOne and see what they tell me. There's a couple of banking centers close to me so maybe I could just drop it off at one of those.

Interest would be included. And why would you voluntarily repo? Have your friend sell the car themselves, odds are they can get a lot more in a private sale of the car than in a voluntary repo.

In fact, the only difference between a regular repo and a voluntary repo is the cost of the towing. You are still responsible for the balance of the loan and the bank is highly unlikely to forgive the rest of the debt -- they are just getting warmed up.
