Hello, I rescued 5 kittens this week and noticed that one of the kittens had a tick almost on its eyeball and a huge swollen "sore" on its neck. Well, ticks really gross me out, so someone that has experience with feral cats said he would try to get the tick off. ... Warbles are very likely to cause infection.

I have been reading about warbles, and from what I have seen, is that the larvae will come out by itself, and if you kill it inside the animal, the animal will die from the toxins. The kitten is one of many that are just barn cats, and I can't afford vet care.

Warbles are the larvae of the bot-fly (Cuterebra sp.). Warbles appear as a swelling or lump just under the skin. Upon closer examination you will see that there is a puncture or hole just above the lump. This is an air vent for the larva, which has burrowed into the skin.
