As a family of 3 I dont have the time nor the money to be washing, peeling, sewing and buying all these so called new ACU's ; Amber LeBlanc ; Ft.wainwright alaksa ... As for the ink on the ACUs, take the pens out before you wash them. I have four sets and none of mine seem to ever have any ink on them.

I was able to locate a list of detergents confirmed to be safe, and not safe, for washing ACU. If you use a generic detergent, be sure to compare the ingredients with the detergents on these lists to determine whether or no it’s safe to use. ... All Free & Clear (formulated for ACUs)

I was thrilled when the Army ditched the old BDUs and went with the much lower-maintenance ACUs. After all, ... What I really dislike about washing the ACU is that the cloth string that is in the belt has become frayed and attaches itself to every piece of available velcro strip and it's darn near impossible to un-stick it-
