Brief and Straightforward Guide: What is Viscose? ... I bought a beautiful blouse made of 100 percent viscose. After wearing it several times, I washed it in a washing machine with a gentle cycle, as it said "40" in a backet. It has lost the beautiful sheen and shrunk and got creasy!

I have a few viscose shirts that I just throw inside-out in a delicates bag and put in my washing machine anyway I'm too lazy to handwash! They've always come out fine so long as I wash in cold water and hang flat to dry.
