The saturation is known as the total water saturation if the pore space is the total porosity, and the effective water saturation if the pore space is the effective porosity. If used without qualification, the term usually refers to the effective water saturation.

If the pore space concerned is the total porosity, the saturation is more correctly known as the total flushed-zone water saturation; or if it is the effective porosity, the effective flushed-zone water saturation.

Water content - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Water content or moisture content is the quantity of water contained in a material, such as soil (called soil moisture ), rock, ceramics, or wood on a volumetric or gravimetric basis. The propert...

Through which types of soil does the water "percolate" slowest? Why? Soil will hold most of the water added to it until it is "saturated." The soil will release water at the same it is added after saturation is reached.

The concern with water saturation results from the aggressive nature of dissolved minerals in water - particularly Calcium Carbonate - which can lead to scaling or etching of plaster and metallic equipment. It is a relatively new concept for pool and spa professionals and deserves to be thoroughly understood.

At 450 PSIG and -60 F what is the saturation concentration/ partial pressure of water? We trying to reduce the water content of a stream to prevent hydrate formation. It our understanding that water needs to be present to create hydrates.

The weight of salt and the weight of water for each saturation temperature represent the concentration of a saturated solution for that temperature, and will to expressed in terms of g salt per 100 g water.

As the fluid pressure decreases through the seal to reach the hydrostatic pressure, the diffusion of dissolved gas, within a very short distance, will crosscut its saturation curve in water because this saturation will decrease as a function of the pressure.
