P is power in Watts; V is voltage in Volts; I is current in Amps; Watts = Volts times Amps; So if your air conditioner is 15 amps, you just need to multiply it by the voltage. Household appliances in the U.S. use 120 volt.

First scenario: assuming that the 2.5 amp bulbs really draw 2.5 amp, then you can put absolutely no more than six on a 15 amp circuit (6 x 2.5 = 15 amps) but I would not put more than five on for safety's sake. I would not add *any* of the seven watt bulbs ... Second scenario: Take your 2.5 amp bulbs as really being 2.5 WATTS,

An inverter takes the 12 volt from the battery and converts (inverts) it to 120 volts, 750 watts of power at 120 volts = 6.25 amps. A generator(actually an alternator) gives 120 volts output. A 5500 watt genset can provide 45 amps, usually two 20 amp circuits or outlets at 120 volts.
