I guess if you’re the trusting type, and you really don’t want to kill or relocate your groundhogs, you might want to try a groundhog repellent and let us know how it works. It can severely injure and kill an animal unfortunate enough to trip it. That would include any children that might happen to see it and not be able to resist the temptation to see what it does. Probably not fatal to the child but definitely seriously harmful! ... We had a groundhog living under our storage building last summer.

Large Hav-a-hart traps are extremely effective in catching the groundhog. Just bait the trap with some of the vegetables they have been munching on in your garden. They are particularly fond of broccoli! Try some broccoli in the trap and you will almost certainly entice the critter in for a meal.
